This Privacy Policy explains how Linga Academy (“Linga Academy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores and protects information that you (“you”, “the student”, “the parent”, “the visitor”) share with us when you visit our website, take our career-guidance assessment, book a counselling call, fill our application form, or otherwise interact with our team over phone, WhatsApp, email or SMS.
By using this website or sharing your information with us, you agree to the terms set out in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not submit any information through our forms or contact channels.
In short: we collect only what we need to help you find the right course and campus, we contact you only via the channels you opt in to, and we never share your details with anyone outside our admissions team — full stop.
2 · What we collect
2.1 · Information you give us
- Contact details — full name, mobile number, email address, city / state, preferred language.
- Academic information — current grade, school or college, board, 10th and 12th percentages or expected scores, entrance-exam scores (NEET, JEE, EAMCET, CUET etc.).
- Career preferences — streams of interest, preferred study locations, budget range, mode of study, scholarship needs.
- Career-assessment responses — answers you provide while taking our Career Guidance Test, used only to generate your personalised report.
- Communication content — messages you send us over WhatsApp, email, SMS, or our website forms.
2.2 · Information collected automatically
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, device, pages visited, referrer URL, timestamps.
- Aggregated analytics — anonymised page-view and click data via privacy-respecting analytics.
- Cookies — small text files described in Section 5.
3 · How we use your information
We use the information you share with us to:
- Generate your personalised career-guidance report and recommend matching courses and campuses.
- Schedule and conduct your counselling call, follow-ups, and admission-related conversations.
- Communicate with you over the channels you have explicitly opted in to — phone call, WhatsApp, RCS, SMS or email.
- Process applications, file scholarship and management-quota paperwork, and coordinate with the universities you are applying to.
- Improve our website, the assessment itself, and the quality of counselling we provide.
- Comply with any applicable Indian laws and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
4 · Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data — ever. We share information only in the following narrow circumstances:
- Partner universities — only when you have given us a specific go-ahead to forward your application to a specific institution. You can revoke this at any time before the institution issues an admission letter.
- Service providers — vetted tools we use to run our business (email delivery, SMS / WhatsApp Business API, secure cloud storage, payment processing). These vendors are contractually bound to handle your data with the same standards described here.
- Legal authorities — when required by a valid order from an Indian court, regulator, or law-enforcement agency.
We never share your data with third-party marketers, lead-resale networks, or unrelated educational institutions.
5 · Cookies & analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies to remember your session, save your progress in the career-guidance test, and measure aggregate site usage. You can disable cookies in your browser at any time — most of the site will continue to work, but your test progress may not auto-save between visits.
We use privacy-respecting analytics that record only aggregated, anonymised events. We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising cookies, or any cross-site tracking.
6 · Security
We take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect your data:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS / HTTPS.
- Sensitive information at rest is encrypted using AES-256-GCM.
- Access to your information is limited to the senior counsellor assigned to your case and the admin team that supports them.
- Our staff have signed strict confidentiality agreements and are trained on data-handling.
That said, no system on the internet is 100% secure. If we ever suffer a security incident that affects your information, we will tell you within 72 hours and explain what we are doing about it.
7 · How long we keep your data
- Active enquiries & admissions — for as long as you are an active student / parent in our system, plus three years after admission, for academic and tax records.
- Career-test responses — 24 months from the date you take the test, after which we anonymise and aggregate them.
- Marketing & outreach lists — until you ask to be removed, which we honour within 7 working days.
8 · Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct any details that are inaccurate or out of date.
- Delete your data — we honour deletion requests within 7 working days, unless we are required to retain a record for legal or tax reasons.
- Withdraw consent for any channel (call / WhatsApp / SMS / RCS / email) at any time, including by replying STOP to any message.
- Object to specific uses of your data.

9 · Minors
Many of our students are aged 16–18. If you are below 18, please take this test and submit any forms with the involvement of a parent or guardian. We strongly encourage parents to be on the counselling call. We never use information collected from a minor for any purpose other than the specific guidance request they came to us for.
10 · Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, in particular when our service evolves or when the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision. If a change is material, we will notify you by email and through a banner on our homepage for at least 30 days.
